Thyristor controlled rectifiers
Air-cooled thyristor controlled power supplies type HBQG
The electroplating rectifier HBQG is intended to supply processes, which
are
characterized as requiring high precision and reliability. This rectifier
has been developed by KraftPowercon AB on the basis of extensive experience
of thyristor technology to be used in applications where a high degree
of automation, reliability and current quality are important parameters.

HBQG can be operated from a separate control unit which includes voltmeter
and ammeters for the measurement of voltage and current, potentiometers for
the setting of voltage and current. HBQG can also advantageously be operated
via analogue signals 0-10V, 4-20mA or via modern field bus like RS485 Profibus
or Modbus.
Mechanically the cubicle is built with a robust frame with covers plates
all made by steel. The complete structure has a surface protection suitable
for harsh industrial environment. Standard colour is RAL 7032.
Electically the design is based on a very strong transformer with an interphase
transformer. The coupling ensures minimum possible current stress and losses
in diode valves, transformer and thyristors.
Regulation is made by primary thyristors and a conservativly designed
diode bridge on the secondary side.
The rectifier has a fast short circuit over current protection on incomming
three phases and an electronic current limiting on the secondary side.
To ensure long-term functioning in severe environments all sensitive components
are housed in an unventilated area at the front of the apparatus.
